ASSOCIATED STUDENT BOARD SENATOR CANDIDATE

SERIOUSLY consider the following BEFORE running for office:

1.) G.P.A.: At least 2.0 throughout the term of office.

2.) UNITS: At least 6.0 units of college classes at College of the Siskiyous.

3.) TIME: It takes YOUR time, service, motivation, and dedication. IT IS NOT AN EASY JOB

4.) Working with students, faculty, administration, staff, and the
Associated Student Board.

5.) Volunteer and serve on the Associated Student Board Committees and other
Campus committees.

6.) Learn and use Parliamentary Procedures.

7.) Carry out regular duties: ASB meetings, Newsletter, log book, ASB
functions, etc.

8.) Come up with ideas and activities that will benefit those at
College of the Siskiyous.

All in all, you will represent College of the Siskiyous to the best of your capabilities.

PETITIONS MUST BE TURNED INTO THE ASB OFFICE BY THIRD WEEK IN APRIL BY 5 pm, for spring elections and BY THE FIRST WEEK SEPTEMBER, 5 pm, for fall elections.

At the time of turning in your petition, your picture will be taken. This picture will be used for the elections. You may start campaigning as soon as your petition is approved.

Instructions:


READ attached material and requirements carefully.
Answer the questions to your best ability. The petitions will be posted to be read by the voters, so write or type legibly.
Obtain two recommendations from COS staff. These can be letters, emails, or phone calls to ASB Advisor, Les Courtemanche.
Return petition to ASB office for processing.

Have your pictures taken by and ASB member. Pictures will be posted by your petition for voters to view.
You may campaign for election. You must comply with the Election Code in the By-Laws of the Associated Students of College of the Siskiyous. Poster-making materials are available to you in the ASB office. You may also have ASB copy your fliers for posting around campus.
ASB meetings are always open to the public, and you are invited to attend any time. They are held on Thursday's in MC1 at 11:00am.


Requirements:


You must maintain a grade point average of at least 2.0 throughout your one-year term of office.
You must be enrolled in at least 6.0 units throughout your term of office.
You must enroll in GUID 10 (Leadership Training) class at least one semester or apply and interview for The Student Leadership Program.
You must be willing to spend two hours weekly manning the ASB office, working with and helping other students.
You must be willing to attend and support the activities sponsored by the ASB (dances, special events, etc.)
You must be willing to represent the students and serve on campus committees, working with faculty, administration, and staff.
You must conduct yourself in such a way that would not reflect poorly on ASB during your term of office.
You must purchase an Eagle Card for each semester you are in office.
