Senator Job Description

Becoming an Associated Student Board Senator is a SERIOUS commitment. It is not an easy job. It takes YOUR time, service, motivation, and dedication to make it work. An ASB Senator represents the student body. Senators work with students, faculty, administration, staff and their fellow ASB colleagues. They volunteer and serve on the ASB commitees and Campus Committees (such as Instruction Council, Student Services Council, etc.) They carry out regular ASB duties such as maintaining ASB office, meetings, activities/events, fundraising, etc. They assist the retention activities coordinator in coming up with ideas and activities that will benefit College of the Siskiyou. They learn and use Parliamentary Procedures for conducting efficient meetings.

 

Minimum Requirements:

1) At least 6.0 units of college classes at College of the Siskiyous

2) At least 2.0 cumulative GPA throughout the term of office

3) Must be willing to spend 2 hours a week staffing the ASB office

4) Must be willing to attend and support the activities sponsored by ASB (dances, special events, etc.)

5) Must be willing to represent the students and serve on campus committees, working with faculty, administration, and staff

6) Must conduct yourself in such a way that would not reflect poorly on ASB during your term of office

7) You must purchase a Student Body Card for each semester you are in office
