The Flora of Mount Shasta

Introduction

Return to Mount Shasta home page

Dr. Kenneth Beatty has been an instructor of biological science at College of the Siskiyous since 1960. During this time he has become quite familiar with the plant diversity of Mount Shasta and the surrounding areas. Ken is impressed with the beauty of The Mountain and its plants. Mount Shasta has been a significant part of his living laboratory for class and workshop instruction.

Leona is also a longtime resident of Siskiyou County. She has a deep appreciation for the beauty and art in nature. She has applied her camera, sketching pencil, and computer in capturing and communicating this beauty to others.

The images included here are but a sampling of the floral riches of Mount Shasta and will act as a starter on a broader coverage in time. Both Leona and Ken have compiled the text and have taken all the photographs of the flora. All images are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced in any form without the written permission of the authors.
