Angelika Brown
Angelika Brown, a native of Germany, has been living in California for 23 years.
She has an MA from Chico State in Teaching International Languages. Angelika Brown started a German program at Happy Camp High School in 1999 and developed the program to a German I, II, III, and IV.
In Spring 2008 Angelika offered her first Conversational German class for COS and brought German back to COS. Since then she has developed a transferable German I and German II course which earns 4 credits each semester.
German is in the top ten foreign languages of the world taught to language students. It is one of the most widely spoken languages in Europe and every 10th book in the world is published in German. Angelika takes students to Germany every second year, and this last time some COS students were part of this great adventure. It is her belief that the ultimate outcome of studying German is to visit Germany and Europe. Angelika developed this exchange program in 2000 and has taken over 100 students abroad so far.
