College Reading
If you want to learn how to improve your vocabulary, comprehension, critical
thinking skills, and reading rate to the college reading level,
then this is the course for you. This course not only satisfies
the Reading Competency Requirement for an AA degree at COS, but it is
also transferable to the CSU system.

READ 10 Online College Reading

If you want to learn how to improve your vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking skills, and reading rate to the college reading level,
but you are unable to attend the on campus class, then this course may be
an option for you. This course not only satisfies the Reading Competency Requirement for an AA degree at COS, but it is also transferable to the CSU
system. Since this course is conducted completely online, you need to have
access to the Internet and an established e-mail account. You must also
posses the appropriate computer skills required for an online course. In
other words, you need to be able to effectively communicate via e-mail by
sending and opening attachments, post responses to a discussion board, take
quizzes and tests online, and navigate the Internet as required by the course
assignments.

READ 62 Fundamentals of Reading
If you need a reading course that prepares you for college level work in vocabulary, comprehension and study skills, then this is the course for you. It is repeatable and a good springboard for the READ 10 College Reading course.
As of the Fall of 2002, this course is a required prerequisite for Read 10.
