MY JOB: I am currently (and have been since August, 2007) the Laboratory Technician for the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics department at College of the Siskiyous. My title here is Instructional Support Specialist- Science 2. My job is to help with preparation of labs, whether that be building apparatus for Physics, mixing chemical solutions and making unknowns for Chemistry, keeping inventory of the chemical store room, finding miscellaneous supplies for the many Biology labs and courses, and basically being the go-to for finding anything in the Biology area. I also play around with web pages for Biology staff, and anything else that needs to be done in any of the above departments. I love my job as it gives me the flexibility to do the things I love, and I am able to keep my foot in the departments I love to be in!!!

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: I recieved my A.S. degree in May of 2007. I graduated with high honors and as Phi Theta Kappa President. My life and desicions have not always been so clean cut and golden, however; if you really want something I believe you must go get it, so that's what I try to do every day of my life. I planned on furthering my educational career in studying for my Bachelors degree, but am unable to fullfill that goal at the moment and truth be told, I am not sure that is even a personal goal for me any longer. Sometimes we don't exactly know what we want to do with ourselves "when we grow up" and I think that is okay!! I just keep looking toward my future and work hard along the way. I find myself very happy in this position and I love it here in Siskiyou County. My goal when I started here at COS was to further my education in Biology, juice up my resume, and most importantly add to my experience in life. I have accomplished these things (and more) and I am very happy with the outcome thus far.

MISCELLANY: My family is my first priority and are very important to me, I have an awesome 7 year old son and the most wonderful husband/ best friend I could ask for. My other interests include snowboarding, hiking, kayaking, swimming, (anything to do with the outdoors and the water), cake baking/ decorating, cooking, playing guitar, getting tattoos, writing, photography, walking in the rain, pondering infinity, and reflecting upon my life. Most of these things are and always will be accompanied by music. Music is very much a part of my life.
