Voice Mail System Quick Reference

To initiate your voice mailbox
1. Call the voicemail system number, x5999 on campus and 938-5999 off campus.
2. If the general "Welcome to the College..." message answers, press #.  If you hear another voicemail user's name announced, press *.
3. Enter your mailbox number.
4. Enter the temporary password (Call Technology Services at x5222 if you don't have this).
5. Follow the tutorial prompts to change your password, record your name, and record a personal greeting.
6. Press * to exit voice mail.
 
To access your voice mailbox
1. Call the voicemail system number, x5999 on campus and 938-5999 off campus.
2a. If at your own phone, your name will announce.  Enter your password.
2b. If at another phone with a mailbox, press *.   Enter your mailbox number.  Enter your password.
2c. If at another phone without a mailbox, press #.   Enter your mailbox number.  Enter your password.
 
From the main menu:
To listen to new messages, press 11
To send a message, press 2
To change your password, press 421
To add time and date to messages, press 4241
To turn off time and date, press 4242
To change your greeting or re-record your name, press 43
To change your prompt level (to make spoken explanations more detailed or briefer), press 423
To leave an extended absence greeting, press 43 and listen to the prompt
To transfer to another extension (without hanging up), press
5 (Restart).

When listening to messages:
To erase a message, press 7 after the message is finished or press 337 to move to end of message and erase.
To repeat last ~10 seconds of message, press 1
To repeat entire message, press 11
To move forward ~10 seconds in message, press 3
To move to end of message, press 33
To move rapidly through several messages, press # after listening to as much of the message as you need before moving to the next message.  This will not erase messages, just allows you to quickly hear an overview of several messages.

If you do not need to listen to someone's entire greeting, press # to skip the rest of the greeting and leave a message.
