Submission Guidelines
The Writing Lab at College of the Siskiyous is pleased to announce the advent of a new literary publication to feature the work of COS students. The Bear Trail Journal will be published annually in the spring.
- Send a maximum of five (5) poems; three (3) photographs, drawings, prints, or paintings; and/or two (2) works of prose (fiction or essay).
- Send a cover letter in the body of your email that includes your name, address, telephone number, email, the title(s) and type of work submitted, and a brief biography.
- Poems shall be no more than 40 lines in length. Prose shall be no more than 2500 words. All work shall be original and unpublished. Simultaneous submissions will be permitted if indicated in the cover letter.
- Type your name on the first page of manuscript. Subsequent pages should be numbered. Double space fiction. Use a readable 12 pt. font such as Times New Roman or Courier. Email your manuscript as an attached Word document to beartrail@siskiyous.edu.
- Photographs, drawings, prints, or paintings should also be sent as an attached digital file with high resolution images (at least 400 dpi).
You will be notified by email if your work is accepted for publication.
