English 66C & D

Lab Hours:  8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. M-Th, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. F, 938-5325

The Course:  The 0.5 unit course offers individualized instruction in language arts skills, specifically instruction in vocabulary.  Students will use assigned texts, computer program instruction, and work individually with Writing Lab staff for a total of 18 hours. Students will be expected to spend an additional 2 hours per week, per unit of credit, on assignments, reading, research, and homework.

Course Objective:
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to develop vocabulary through the application of the principles of word formation, the use of word repetition, and the knowledge of word relationships.

Prerequisites: None

Where:  Course work will be completed in the Academic Success Center in the LRC Building.

When:  Students will require varying amounts of time and will need to schedule a weekly session with a Writing Lab Instructor. Final Exam will be conducted on the class’s final day.

Withdrawal: Students are responsible for withdrawal. Forms are available at Admissions and Records.

Late work: Students must make arrangements in advance if they need to miss a class. Reasonable extensions will be granted. However, there will be no incompletes in this class.

If you qualify, please bring your official notification to your instructor as soon as possible.

Cheating: Cheating of any kind will result in failure of the assignment.

Grades:  A = 90-100%, B = 80-89%, C = 70-79%, D = 60-69%, F = below 60%

General Course Policies:  Students are expected to work on assigned tasks, behave appropriately in the Lab area, and ask for help whenever they need it.
