Learning Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) - Employers
What is the Learning Aligned Employment Program?
The Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) is an internship program that offers eligible students at public colleges and universities the opportunity to earn money to help defray their educational costs while gaining education-aligned, career-related employment.
For employers, LAEP can help to offset the cost of hiring a student intern. This allows students to earn a wage and gain experience in their field, while assisting employers to get the help they need at a reduced cost.
What can LAEP do for my business or organization?
For-Profit: Can potentially cover up to 50% of eligible student wages.
Non-Profit: Can potentially cover up to 90% of eligible student wages.
Once we have received the required documents outlined in the Employer Information Packet, we will begin searching for eligible students
Any eligible students will be notified of the position, and we will help them apply and prepare for their interview with you
If we are unable to find an intern for you via the LAEP program, we will do our best to help you fill the position by advertising the role on our job board and to the COS student body
Not ready for a student intern, but want to get involved? We have other options!
Job Shadowing: Help a student build their experience and knowledge in their field of study.
In-class Presentations: Come and share your expertise with students who are passionate about your field.
Field Trips: Help students explore their future careers by hosting a class tour.
