Siskiyou Joint Community College District Board of Trustees Seeks Candidates for Vacant Position

Weed /COS – College of the Siskiyous’ Governing Board is seeking candidates for the vacant seat for the trustee representing District Area 1, which includes the areas of Dunsmuir, McCloud, and Castella school districts; expanded west to include unincorporated land west of Dunsmuir, the Azalea area, and unincorporated land east of Lake Siskiyou. This position came open due to a recent resignation.

Eligible candidates must be registered to vote and reside in Area I. Interested candidates should contact Board of Trustees President, Deborah Derby by emailing Deborah.Derby@siskiyous.edu. The deadline for submitting an email of interest in the open position is noon on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

To apply, complete the Trustee Area 1 Application no later than Thursday July 31, 2025. Selected candidates will be interviewed by the Siskiyou Joint Community College Board of Trustees on August 19, 2025 at their Regular Board Meeting scheduled at the College of the Siskiyous Yreka Campus. Open session starts at 5:30 pm.
