“The academic coaches are very nice and helpful. They give efficient and realistic suggestions with whatever you are struggling with. Also, just good people to talk to and a good support system to have. – COS Student
Academic coaching is a free, one-on-one service that connects you with a trained coach who listens, encourages, and helps you create a plan based on your strengths and goals.
During your meetings with an academic coach, you'll be able to:
“I think that I did a lot better this semester than last semester at balancing school, volleyball, and my social life. I think I got better at this because of my academic coach helping me set goals and stay more on top of my schoolwork. – Student Athlete
Academic coaching is designed for every kind of student — whether you're thriving or adjusting to new challenges. Top schools like Harvard and Dartmouth offer coaching because it makes a real difference.
Coaches partner with you to build strong academic habits and skills that will stick with you for life.
“Through my academic coaching meetings I have learned a lot more about myself. I learned about my procrastination and why I tend to procrastinate. I also worked with my academic coach to practice having less procrastination on my schoolwork. – COS Student
Students enrolled in Strategies for Student Success (COLL 600) get priority access to coaching.
Join COLL 600 anytime during fall or spring — it's free!
“Through my experience with COLL 600, one of the most valuable things I've learned about myself is how significantly my environment and routine impact my ability to focus and retain information. Before this course, I underestimated the power of intentional structure. But through the academic coaching sessions and EdTALKS, I began to see that I thrive when I set clear, manageable goals and build consistent habits around them. — Student Athlete

“I feel the biggest takeaway [from academic coaching] was just having someone to talk to who actually seemed like they had interest in my classes and my work and what I was saying. – COS Student
