Library Databases

Please note: Off-Campus access is only available to those with a College of the Siskiyous library card. For off-campus access, click the Off-campus link next to the database you will be searching. You will be asked for your library barcode number and account password. Your library barcode number is the 14-digit number found on the back of your library card; enter the whole number with no spaces.

If you have not used the online databases before, you will need to create a password for your account.
No Library card or password are required to use the databases if you are on the Weed or Yreka campuses.

If you are a current student and do not have a Library card, please stop by the Library or request a card online. Keep in mind that it will take 1-2 business days to process online Library card requests. Please contact the Library in person, by phone (530) 938-5331(530) 938-5331 or online if you are having any problems creating a password or logging into the databases.

Biography In Context
A database of articles, book excerpts, and video and audio clips covering over 4,400 world leaders, authors, artists, musicians, activists, athletes, and other notable people.

A database of over 800,000 book reviews. Some music and video reviews are included as well.
*Business Source Elite
Primarily made up of articles, this database covers business topics such as management, economics, accounting, and marketing. Over 10,000 company profiles from MarketLine are also included.
*CINAHL Plus with Full Text (nursing)
Our main article database covering nursing and allied health topics. Fact sheets and continuing education unit (CEU) lessons are also included.
*Consumer Health Complete
The articles in this database are written for a general audience and cover all areas of health. Some ebooks, images and videos are also included.
CountryWatch Premium
Database of geopolitical information, including maps, on 195 countries.
Credo Reference


A database of reference ebooks such as encyclopedias and dictionaries. A good source for brief overviews and background information on a topic. Also includes a small collection of nursing ebooks.

*MasterFILE Premier
A great general article database that covers a wide variety of topics written for a general audience. It has less scholarly content than Academic Search.
This is a commercial version of the National Library of Medicine’s free PubMed database. The two complement each other by providing access to different full text articles.
