The Law Enforcement Academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)
According to California Government Code Sections 1029 and 1031, every Peace Officer must be:
College of the Siskiyous currently offers an Intensive Modular Law Enforcement Academy which consists of the following classes:
|ADJ 2014 – Regular Basic Course Module III||177|
|ADJ 2516 – Regular Basic Course Module II||208|
|ADJ 2517 – Regular Basic Course Module I||548|
Cadets must complete the Law Enforcement Academy Modules in the following order – III, II, and I. Completing all three modules fulfills the minimum training requirements for employment in the State of California as a fulltime Peace Officer.

The first step to Academy entrance is successful completion of the PELLETB (POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery). The PELLETB is a multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank written examination designed to measure reading and writing ability.
Test results are good for one year. You may take the test as many times as needed to obtain a passing score.

Each academy class is limited to forty cadets and applications will be accepted in order of their receipt. Applicants must:

POST Student Workbooks are provided in a PDF format. All cadets must provide their own laptop or tablet.

Physical Training clothing is available for purchase in our campus bookstore.
Firearms are provided for use during the academy and are property of the academy.
Cadets are not required to purchase their own.
