Resources for Distance Learning Faculty

Discipline Expertise and Commitment to Student Success

Distance Learning faculty at College of the Siskiyous represent a diverse group of dedicated professionals. Whether you are new to our faculty, or are interested in updating your skills, this site is dedicated to supporting your professional development.

If you are new to our faculty, or are interested in distance learning modalities, review the Distance Learning Handbook for a complete overview of Distance Learning guidelines for our campus.

CVC-OEI Equity Cohort

In 2018, COS joined the CVC-OEI Consortium as part of the Equity Cohort. As a consortium campus, our online courses and programs are featured in the CVC-OEI Finish Faster website which students from all over California can access.

Our courses feature badges for online tutoring, online counseling, student readiness support, and consortium status.

Some COS courses have been quality reviewed by the OEI Course Design Academy, and feature a quality reviewed badge! If you want to learn more about getting your course quality reviewed, contact Maria Elena Fernandez, DE and Instructional Design Coordinator.

As an educational institution, COS is committed to the quality of our students' learning, regardless of location or means of delivery. Given the critical role of instruction in the learning process, COS has documented the faculty skills and requirements uniquely applicable to the online teaching environment.

Visit our professional development portal [link coming soon] for a schedule of professional development workshops and facilitated courses using Canvas LMS, as well as a variety of self-paced courses specific to accessibility.

If you are a full-time faculty member, many of these activities have been pre-approved for flex.
