Work Experience Education (WEE) is an education program in which students can earn college credit through individualized work-based learning while they are working at paid jobs, internships or as volunteers. Units can be applied to any College of the Siskiyous Associate degree and for transfer to a California State University.

Students work with their employer or site supervisor to design their own learning objectives each semester, and apply knowledge gained in college courses with practical work experience to develop job readiness skills that are transferable to future careers.

Each 54 hours of work equates to 1 semester credit. Per semester, a maximum of 6 units can be earned. Students can take the work experience class up to four (4) times. However, financial aid does not always support repeated coursework. It is advised that students meet with the Financial Aid department and an Academic Advisor when incorporating Work Experience into their Educational Plans. A total of 16 units may be earned and applied to a AA/AS degree and/or transferred.

To earn Work Experience units, students must have a job, internship or be approved to volunteer.
