If you plan to take online (distance education) classes at College of Siskiyous and live outside California, please read this information carefully before enrolling.
Some states require colleges to receive permission before offering online courses to people who live in their state. This process is called state authorization. It helps protect students and ensures schools meet basic educational standards
Approval by a state does not mean that the state endorses a specific college or program, and it does not guarantee that credits will transfer to another school.
This information applies to you if:
College of Siskiyous is only allowed to offer online courses in states we have exchange agreements with. They are:
Alaska
Arizona
Colorado
Hawaii
Idaho
Montana
Nevada
New Mexico
North Dakota
Oregon
South Dakota
Utah
Washington
Wyomind
If you live in a state other than the above, you are not allowed to take fully online courses unless you are currently living in California. At the time of your application a hold will be placed on your account preventing you from registering until you complete the State Authorization Declaration.
All online programs are approved by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
